I have been to 3 or four of the 10 H shops in Macau in HK, and I wanted your opinions on which was best, in terms of availability and customer service, since I will be going back soon and I need to do some planning! :yahoo:

Also, will each of the shops be willing to call the others to check for availability of items and such?

Thanks!

On HK Island, the largest and best in terms of customer service, IMO, is at The Galleria in Central HK.

The H stores at Pacific Place and Sogo are quite small and can be missed if you are short of time.

Birkins have recently been sighted and reported on TPF at the DFS and Peninsular store.

I have had the store check for availability at other stores before.

Wow, if Birkins can be sighted on shelves in HK that really says something about Hermes' sales in the current environment... Even Mr Lau is not buying :wtf:

Thanks zenith!

Is the galleria the one that recently reopened?

I think I'll drop by the peninsula and the galleria ones, hopefully they'll have something I just can't leave without! :p

HK side: Central Galleria and the Lee Gardens has the most stock
Kowloon side: Penninsula has the best service, will call other stores, transfer items over for you. Frequent kelly sightings at the DFS H.

Most SAs at pacific place H are quite snotty, they only lighten up when you shop for RTW or croc accessories. As Zenith mentioned, you can try your luck for a birkin at penninsula H. If you are looking for something that's hard to find, try the Sogo H at causeway bay, the SAs there will actually call to follow up.

Good luck!!

I thought I was the only one who dislike the Pacific Place H store!

Peninsular H and DFS are within walking distance of each other so you could go to both! Same for Lee Garden and Sogo.

I don't like the SA in Pacific Place too! Very Snotty. I never go to that shop since I don't think there is any service at all.

Overall, the SA in the Galleria and Lee Garden are very nice and helpful.

And my favourite SA is in Sogo Department Store, she actually help me to score a birkin recently.

amen! i shopped in H pacific place once and a petite lady came to assist me AFTER she scanned me and my birkin from head to toe. while i was paying for a purchase (no, not a birkin), this young guy (probably new) came by to admire my bag. before he could come any closer the SA gave him a glare and a warning look to stay away from us . HORRENDOUS! I made a mental note never to go back to that store again. Not to mention the floor area is so tiny!

This sort of happened to me at the Galleria shop about a year ago. I walked in and was looking at some bags and had put my Birkin down. The SA walked up to me, walked around the bag looking at it from the corner of her eye (to see if it was real, I guess) and only then did she approach me to see if she could assist me. I told her I was looking for a Kelly in black or rouge and I didn't hear from the shop until yesterday - I wonder if this is a sign of the bad economy. Because they always have loads of Kellys in all the HK shops I've visited (although not black ones).
But when I walked into the Galleria shop a few days ago (to buy a scarf) they were immediately nice and helpful, and complimented me on another Birkin I was carrying.
The Lee Gardens shop in Causeway Bay has very nice SAs.

I remember when I went back to Hong Kong for school breaks, mommy and I always used to go to H in lee garden (? right? the one in Causeway Bay that has a big prada store?) and the one in Soho. From what I remember, both stores have VERY helpful SAs... But I too, dislike the one in Pacific Place (I still remember after all these years!), they were kinda rude! (Don't remember what they did specifically but just remember the feeling) Yikes. And and I really like the flag ship one in Central too, don't know if it's still there, but they have two floors, with downstairs being the RTW and shoes... Is that store still there?

^Wow, I hate Pacific Place too! They are rude, snotty, and their inventory stinks!

The Galleria, Sogo, Peninsula are not to be missed. DFS is closed now to be merged with the Harbour City one to be reopened later. Sogo, although small, is very happening and receives interesting inventory often because of the enormous traffic they get being in a Sogo mall. Sogo is the only place that offered me a Birkin, although I've always been The Galleria loyalist; The Galleria hasn't offered me anything special - I get all my special bags in Paris mostly. All these stores have put Birkins and exotics on the shelves lately. It's a good time to buy. They're not too far from each other if you go by MTR or even taxi.

In Macau the best bet is The Mandarin. If you talk to them, they might bring something special out. Right now, the stock in Macau isn't that great. It was better a few months ago.
