I dont have a Saint Laurent store close to me so I am planning to buy online. I purchased my first ever Saint Laurent purse directly from their website. Should I just do that again? Ive also heard about sites like FarFetch and FashionPhile. Are those only used or do they sell new? Im not sure how those sites work. Are they the same price as the Saint Laurent site? I am located in Canada.

Thanks!

Farfetch sells new items (from a variety of other store partners), FashionPhile sells used items. I had a great experience with Farfetch (and things occasionally do go on sale there), but ymmv - I've seen some complaints about them being very difficult to return items to.

It is possible to get prices lower than the official Saint Laurent retail prices, at least for some of the most popular bags, but you may need to be very very patient and stalk the bags for a while. I price watched the Lou camera bag for about 6 months to get a sense of which sites it went on sale on and how low the price could drop before I finally pulled the trigger and bought it from Farfetch at a significant discount (and I was able to stack their student discount on top of it, and possibly also Rakuten cashback? I don't remember) - I managed to get it for 33% off the retail price. November seems to be the best time to buy bags in the US - cash back services like Rakuten seem to really ramp up their deals for the entire month before Black Friday (like, normally they'll offer 1-3% cash back, and then on random days in November it will be 10-15%), and that can be combined with whatever promo the store has going on.

Thanks for explaining the difference between those 2 sites.

Im looking to buy the small puffer in black with silver hardware but its quite a bit more then the toy which makes me want to buy the toy based on the price but I would prefer a small. If I can get a discount even better. You got a sweet deal on the camera. Wow! I paid regular price for my camera strait from the YSL site. Thats why I am trying to see if I can get a deal on some of these other sites but would like to buy new if possible.

Selfridges is cheaper than the YSL site but only carry certain bags. I was able to use a coupon at FWRD but not sure if that's still an option. Check out the thread pinned up top, $$$Sales and Deals on YSL items $$$.

I would also mention to keep in mind that there have been price increases around May and November.

I haven't bought any YSL from Sellfridges but I did buy a Mulberry bag and would recommend if you buy anything other than their toy bags and SLGs which usually come with a box, to pay for gift wrapping. My Mulberry was basically put in a shipping DHL box with the dust bag--interior of the box is yellow and it seems the yellow rubbed off on the dust bag as it was in transit.

The puffer is awesome. The leather is sooo soft in black. I love the small size and for me it's the best size.

If I see any good deals I like to share them on the deals page. Sadly not so many amazing deals lately.

I love Selfridges! The shipping is fast. I also shop at Harrods during their 10% events.

Thanks for the heads up about the price increases. So they go up twice a year in May and November?

Thats awful that Sellfridges shipped your purse with just the dust bag and DHL box and that the color from the box rubbed off on the dustbag.

Yes Im excited to get the puffer. Obviously want to find good deal so will keep checking the deals thread but if nothing soon I guess I will have to pay full price.

I've only really been buying the last few years but I believe the increases have usually been around May and November. Last year it was on Oct 31st. The price increase thread will probably say when the increases are.

I hope you don't pay full price. If you're going to pay full price though try to catch a gift card event with a good cashback bonus. I think it was 2 years ago I paid full price-ish for a bag on Farfetch because they had a bag I wanted at the pre-increase price and everywhere else I looked had just increased significantly the day before. I found a $50 coupon but no 10% off coupon that would work at the time which was a bummer and maybe a 1% cashback.

Lol, or wouldn't it be nice to take a vacay in Europe are cheaper and do some shopping! If only!!!

On vitkac.com, the small leather puffer is listed at $2779. On the US ysl.com site, it is listed at $3200. The mini leather puffer is $1909 compared to the full prices of $2290 on the ysl site. Vitkac also offers 10% off if you sign-up with your email which can be applied to a YSL purchase.

I wish they would stop with the price increases so frequently. I bought the camera bag last summer direct from YSL site at reg price and now its around $200 more. I hope I dont pay full price either when I buy my puffer. Its always better to get some sort of deal for sure and I need to do this before the price increases again. But Ive gathered some good sites now from everyone which offer discount codes so that will help!

A vacation in Europe sounds good to me!

Thanks for the info. Ill have a look on Vitkac. Thats quite a good discount and with an additional 10% too. I just want to make sure its lambskin though and not calfskin. I know some have said their puffers are calf skin. I didnt know there were 2 different leathers in the puffer.
