Best Pet-Friendly Airline?

My kitty and I are going to be taking a one-way to NYC and I understand that she'll be able to be stowed under my seat. But does anyone have any recommendations on the best airline? Virgin seems to be the most inexpensive at $100 but when I called CS for additional details on their policies, such as what type of carrier and where her food should be, she had very few answers........I found many negative things on United when I googled pet friendly airlines, also...

I think since she's gonna be in the cabin with you, they're all pretty much the same.

Only thing I would check for is the one that gives the most leg room, or get a the emergency exit seat.
Don't wanna someone behind you constantly kicking the carrier.
