Best no stretch designer denim

There's a lot of threads about best jeans, the difference is your "no stretch" caveat.
Instead of merging it with one of the other many threads, I'm going to edit your title. More info/keywords in the title is best, especially for search parameters!

I love some give, not so much I can pull them off at the end of the day without unbuttoning, but just enough to make sitting more pleasant lol 😚

Tagging @880 because I think I've seen her offering some recommendations for jeans without stretch!

Agree with TC1 re Levi’s :)

I prefer Japanese denim for superior fabric; limited runs; selvedge on Levi ‘s looms, and buy from blue & Greene* in nyc.
DH is fond of brands called 45R (refined denim) or pure blue Japan (gorgeous fabric; denim that look like cords etc)

See my post #2 on this thread for more recommendations :

Wire cutter recently recommended these non stretch ones, but I prefer a darker wash and more limited edition run

ETA: of older mainstream brands, I adored habitual (but they may only be vintage ones as the company may have gone out of business. I do have a comfy favorite pair of citizens of humanity, but they’re delicate.

Tagging @cecchetti bc she’s an expert on jeans :)

I also adored 3x1 which went out of business ( you could pick your denim, style, fit, buttons, trim)
DH did bespoke 3x1; I just bought off the rack
Two others which I haven’t tried are Brooklyn denim company and Self edge

Unfortunately, Japanese denim is much more expensive in the US than in Japan . . .

Thank you @880 , for tagging me.

Yes, I’ve worn Japanese denim for decades-there is far more selection for men for women (although if you have narrow hips you can wear men’s jeans too).

I second Blue in Green, Self Edge has a fantastic selection,(any of their brands) I’m too small for women’s jeans, but have worn their 3sixteen+ jeans in size 24.
3 sixteen are also good jeans.

Samurai and Momotaro both make women’s jeans-I’ve worn both of those, as well as 45R(who have a very limited selection).

I did have a pattern with 3x1, who used to send swatches to the U.K, they had amazing denims although it was hard to get a transatlantic pattern spot on.

I’ve had Japanese Selvedge jeans made by Savile Row tailors as well, using high oz rigid denims from prestigious mills.

The better quality the denim(Kurabo , Kuroki etc), the longer the jeans will last.

Japan bought the original Levi’s mills from the US , so it’s ironic that workwear is now so expensive!

I hope that’s a little bit of help..

I need a super long inseam, like 35" if I want to wear with anything other than flats. YSL jeans are so long I had to get a large chunk taken off. Also no stretch, and the fit is fab!
I actually just got a pair of YSL jeans two days ago! I didn't need them altered and I have about the same inseam as you. I wanted to have them a bit baggy at the bottom.

Oooh which ones did you get? I have the 70s and 90s and those were the longest. Some of the other ones were perfect as is (but I didn't keep for other reasons).

Do you have a picture?
I'd also love to see! They look amazing in all of the try on videos I've seen online but I won't be able to get into a boutique to try them myself for a few weeks.

Can anyone also recommend a great designer cropped jean? I usually find jeans so uncomfortable and haven't worn them in years until I tried Celine. Celine made me fall back in love with denim again but unfortunately they don't offer any cropped styles now. I'm looking for a cigarette (or kick flare) to show off a new pair of beautiful ankle boots.

I just bought a great dark wash from Loro piana. I’m 5’2” and didn’t need shortening, so I’m assuming this could be cropped for a lot of people. There is a center crease, so it reads as crisp, like a trouser. I’m a Celine 26-27 and I fit into a 26 LP. I think the size range is roughly comparable.
