Just curious what everyone's experience with made to measure clothing has been. Do you have any particular brands you like?

I am built a bit short at the shoulder to breast measurement proportionally, but am otherwise normally proportioned. I can wear non-made to measure, but find that I greatly prefer made to measure when it comes to shirts and dresses.

I’m interpreting MtM as RTW tailored to suit an individuals needs

i love premier luxury RTW (chanel, dior, brunello cuchinelli, and dior) as well as vintage deadstock designers

However, I think Lafayette 148 is a nicely priced brand for basics
eileen fisher is another brand that is easy to throw on

coats: vintage dead stock donald brooks or Norman Norell; brunello cuchinelli
ourterwear jackets: Hermes or dior
s jackets: chanel
best pants: brunello
dresses: dior, but Dior runs a bit high waisted and requires a smaller waist.
relative well priced knitwear: Hermes
when I was younger (Tom Ford era) : dolce & gabbana, YSL, gucci

womens shirts: trickier. If you want sleek and stretchy, close to the body: wolford, theory
if you want to channel the slightly bougie French vibe: Ann fontaine
mens shirting: assorted, but they will need substantial tailoring or MtM

honorable Mention: Turnbull & asser can do womens shirts but I have not placed a bespoke order yet.
Carolina Herrera and Akris used to go on massive sales and made great dresses.

huntsman: can cut a pattern for you, (suits, coats, in particular) and their prices are comparable or less than premier designers today

I have been disappointed with in house tailors. So I tend to rely on my own third party professional

I have not had good luck with tailors. I meant made to measure as in you give your measurements at the time of ordering.
mail order? I have read good things about mtailor . The company has mainly mens but some womens, like jeans.

There are many mens shirtmakers that will also do womens.

most of the boutiques will do shirts and shirt dresses (both MtM and full bespoke), but they will want to do the measurements, at least initially
