Hi - I am looking for an emerald green flap with silver hardware. Does someone with more knowledge of Chanel collections have any advice for which to look for on the preloved market? I know the 18S is super popular but I prefer silver hardware and also the 18S is super expensive on the resale market. Thanks!

Hi! 18S is my VERY favorite (still searching for my holy grail 18S bag, but they are RIDIC on the secondary market).

If you're not a fan of gold, have you checked out the "light gold" hardware?
  • I LOVE this chameleon-like hardware, as it goes w/ anything! (I was gifted a lilac small classic double flap w/ LGHW - I had to look at the tag to figure out if it was gold or silver - it's basically a very, very light champagne color).
Specifically, the iridescent green w/ LGHW from the 22P collection (which is a close 2nd to 18S in terms of Chanel greens!).
If you're set on silver, check out the 2020 or 2016 emerald greens:

I agree that 18S is the best and nothing really comes close to how beautiful this one is. Metier d'art 2024 which has just been released has some beautiful green bags although I am yet to see if there is a green classic flap - seeing as its such a strong colour in the collection I am sure there will be an emerald green flap. Honestly I feel light gold hardware is the most versatile and I agree with @lunasol23 that it goes with everything. I always prefer light gold over silver or gold.

The 22P was a little dark IMO.

My advice, having been chasing bags for many years, is just wait. Chanel almost always releases something similar its just a waiting game. All the colours I felt I "missed" have come back either similar or actually better.

On my screen the 22P looks like a teal / mermaid green color. Is it meant to be emerald?

I have had confirmation that there will be an emerald green flap for 24A collection so you can hopefully find it in store although it has the light gold hardware not silver
