Hi all! I'm new to VCA and I'm interested in a 5 motif bracelet but I was wondering which one is best (not the gold only version please) for everyday wear as far as wear and tear goes? Thanks in advance!

Is rose gold or pave an option? Any of the stones will be more delicate than metal and require some special care. Of the stones, onyx and carnelian seem to be the most robust in my experience, but onyx can show fingerprints which makes it a little less carefree than carnelian perhaps.

Honestly, in terms of wear and tear, the gold is the best. Since this isn't a consideration, I would say the next best would be the pave. If the 5 motif pave is not within your budget, you can consider the 6 motif sweet pave which is at a reasonable price point, and still has a lot of presence.

Out of interest, I checked all the stones on Mohs Scale, except letter wood (can't find it).
From softest to hardest according to google search results...

*Mother of pearl (2.5-4.5)
*Coral (3.5)
*Malachite (3.5-4)
*Lapis Lazuli (5-5.5)
*Turquoise (5-6)
*Tiger eye (5.5-7)
*Chalcedony (6-7)
*Onyx (6.5-7) and Agate (6.5-7)
*Carmelian (7)
and everyone knows:
*Sapphire (9)
*Diamond (10)

simply google: Mohs scale + the stone name, and you will get your answer. The higher the score, the harder the stone, the more durable (theoretically).

Thanks for your input! I'm not 100% against the gold, I just wanted to add a little pizazz to my stack [emoji4]

Ooooh this is helpful! Thank you!

I have been wearing my VCA mother of pearl 5 motif bracelet for the past 7-8 years. The mother of pearl area is holding up very well. No scratches or markings. However, I'm having difficulties with the gold pin because it gets caught on my sweaters and scarfs. (see image) I brought it into the VCA store a year ago to fix the problem. The repair was complimentary but now I'm experiencing the same problem again. I'm thinking about bringing it into the store again and/or looking for a new bracelet.

Has anyone else experienced this same problem? I sure would appreciate any thoughts/suggestions.

I wear my onyx 5 motif bracelet maybe 3~4 times a week and sometimes even more.
I am not that careful with my bracelets as I work from desks a lot but I have never had any issues.
I've had the bracelet for 3 years now. But also I had my bracelet shortened so that it fits properly on my wrist.
