Yes, usually computers have their own IP but I believe that is not the case with AOL, that is why you can't ban someone just by their IP if they are on AOL.
No your computer does NOT have a IP address. Your computer has a MAC address that never changes. in fact all hardware, Computer, Routers, Switches, yada yada has a mac address.
An IP address is dependant on how you connect to the internet. Your Internet Service Provide assigns you an IP address. Depending on the type of service you have your IP address (assignment) can change easily. Basically if you have "Always on" Internet for example Cable, then you will continue to have the same IP address. If you log on to the internet via DSL or Phone line each time you connect you are assigned a IP address. It may be the same, it may not be.
