Hi everyone, with the trending belt bags/bum bags going on, I would like to revive my Florentine which has been kept unused and it is at least 14yr now!? May I know if LV does sell the kind of belt strap (if it makes sense) for the loops of Florentine or which other fashion house makes similar? Thanks in advance!

I just got a Florentine! Preloved and an amazing deal because it didn’t come with the belt. I experimented with some belts I had and came to the conclusion that I didn’t like the thinner 12mm belt (what LV’s thickness is) because the bag moved around on it and kind of flopped too heavy. So I decided to look for a 15mm belt to go with. I find that provides more stability for t waist bag style and is about the thickest that will safely fit through the loops without stretching them. For this reason I didn’t look into buying a LV replacement part, so idk if you could get one of the snap belts at a boutique or not. I see some preloved on eBay... I also didn’t want to spend that much money on it. So I got a 15mm belt from mcraft leather on Etsy. Measured a million times and sent him super detailed and confusing instructions and he nailed it! $89! I’m in the process of patinaing it now to match the rest of the bag. I’ll take some pics to post.

This is a 12mm belt, the same thickness of LV’s. It’s a random belt I had laying around. See how it kind of flops over top heavy? I didn’t like that so I went for 15mm custom.

omg thanks for replying. I would love to see the belt and your modelling pics. Thank you so much!

Quick pics of it on the bag. Working on matching patina lol! A ways to go but getting there! I think the proportions are perfect. AND I like how this belt is finished with stitches and has a legit buckle. I believe LV’s is just a raw glazed edge with snaps? But I could be wrong.

Would you be able to share your specifications you had for the belt? I would like to order same one for my Florentine. Thanks in advance.

The item is titled "Mcraft 15mm Vachetta leather adjustable cross body strap for Louis Vuitton small size bags like Pochette Metis Speedy 25" in the Mcraft Etsy shop. Just be sure you order something 15mm or thinner. 12mm is the thickness of the original LV belt with the snaps.

Here are the instructions I gave, which were executed beautifully. You would need to update the measurements for your waist size and how you want to wear it (waist vs. hip). I was able to do my measurements so I can wear it both places and have a hole that works.

"Custom length details:
I would like this to be one long piece of leather like a belt. So there would be no clasps, just one piece of leather with a buckle at one end and holes punched on the other. (If I must have two pieces of leather with clasps, please let me know ASAP before making as that will change the following calculations and dimensions)
I would like the total length of the leather to be 42” long.
I would like the holes to be punched on the leather at 0.75” increments between the 31” to 38” range.
That would leave 3" of tail on the end of the belt.
Please contact me if this is unclear and I will do my best to clarify. This is a custom item and I understand no returns, so I just want to be sure I am communicating what I would like clearly on the front end.
Thanks!"

Hope this helps!
