Hi Ladies,
I was engaged a few years ago but we broke up before getting married.
Fast forward, I have been with my boyfriend for a couple of years now and I cannot wait to marry him. I had some input into the first engagement ring and now I find myself in a somewhat awkward situation in terms of what engagement ring hints I should drop. I have to admit my taste hasn't changed, but on the other hand I don't think I should go with something too similar. Is it enough to just change the cut to something slightly different but keep the band/setting the same? e.g. from a round solitaire to a cushion solitaire? Do you think friends and family remember the old ring?
Any recommendations? What would you do?

I agree you should still get your dream ring, but make sure it’s not identical to your old one. A solitaire design is a classic like a LBD so you shouldn’t need to change much. I think most people have fuzzy memories but you know every family has that one nosy person with a photographic memory.

They probably wont remember...well maybe if one of your family members really like it a lot then chances are they will still remember it, especially if it is a unique ring. If you like that design why still think of what others might think? Go for it
