Basically Arena Lambskin = Textured Leather are the same?

NO!! .. there are many different types of leather that Balenciaga has used over time. Most of the 'early' bags (2001 - 2007) were Chevre (goatskin), but other more unique leathers were also used for some of the very early bags (e.g., Caribou, Monk, etc.). I would suggest that you peruse through the Balenciaga Reference threads to familiarize yourself with the different types of leather.

That being sad, sadly .. the retail stores (and others) are not the best in describing the leathers since oftentimes their Sales/Marketing folks are less knowledgeable about the Balenciaga brand. Another option is to post a link of the bag that you are looking at on the "Authenticate This" thread; chances are .. one of the folks will be able to better describe the leather utilized for the bag.

Both have this kind of "crumpled" look.
