BAPE stands for A Bathing Ape and is a very popular, iconic Japanese streetwear brand.

According to the brand's founder, Nigo, the name "BAPE" is a reference to "A Bathing Ape in Lukewarm Water". Japanese people typically have daily baths in water at temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius (104 °F). As such, to bathe in lukewarm water is to complacently overindulge as it implies you have stayed in the bath for so long the water has become cold. This is an ironic reference to the lazy opulence of the younger generation of Japanese people, the brand's own customers.

So essentially it's an ironic statement on consumerism.

According to Coach.com it's going to be "available online and in select stores"... They are advertising it on their main Instagram, so it's a global release not just Japanese regional exclusive.

I love BAPE!!! I rarely buy Coach but I will for this!

One of my favorite things that Coach ever did was the Scribble Rainbow Signature... So I'm really happy to see it reinterpreted in the BAPE collab. I can't wait to get my hands on some of these pieces!

The fabric Tote 42's are always $195, but I don't know what any of the rest will be. I can't wait!!
