Have a box Birkin I got about 6 years ago. I babied it way too much at first. I have rotated it to my everyday bag, for the present, and am not being careful at all. Everytime I see a new scratch, I think "more patina."
Those first few scratches when I got it were agonizing, but the new bag looked too stiff and shiny.
A box Kelly gets the patina from the leather bending and does not get as many scratches as the Birkin, due to its size and the way it is carried. At least that is my experience.
Unfortunately I am not much of a photographer.
