Hi all! I’m trying to decide between Ballon Bleu 28mm or 33mm.

My wrist is pretty small at 5.5 inches (14cm), 5’5” tall, weigh 125lbs, and usually wear a US size 4. I’m almost 30 years old, and my wardrobe consists of a wide range of styles, from casual to formal to feminine.

This would be my only nice watch, so I want it to be versatile, classic, but also age well since I plan to wear this watch for a long time!

While I actually think 28mm looks better sizing wise, I can’t help but feel that the sunray dial / guilloche details on 33mm are what really makes the watch pop.

The first two photos are 33mm and the last two are 28mm. Can you please tell me which one fits me better?? Thank you in advance!

Hard to tell from the photos. How tall are you? Height is also a factor. Both look ok to me from the photos. The 28 looks more classic and feminine whereas the 33 looks slightly oversized.

Given this statement, I would search for a watch that fits both. I agree that the 28 dial simply isn’t as nice but that the size is good

I own this watch (33 mm version). It is my smallest watch and I wear it as my dress watch. I am about 5'7" and my wrist is 14.5cm. I would also wear US 2 or 4.
Just imo, the guilloche is 100% what makes this watch so stunning and I would not have purchased it if it had the plain dial. It just sparkles and plays with light in a beautiful way. Also, wrist shots of watches usually make the watch appear larger than it is irl. I think the 33 mm looks great on you and will be more versatile. The 28mm is quite small even though it reads larger in your picture. I know you are only 30 but you do say you plan to keep it a long time - as you get older you will appreciate a larger dial even if it's irrelevant now.
Oh and agree with @CartierLVer , I would always choose automatic over quartz.

I had the 28 and I regretted it. I wish I had gone for the 33 and I am very petite. The design itself lends itself to the larger size. I would consider a different design that’s similar to a 28 on you or if you love the bb design go 33 for long term.

I had to change my vote to 33. I thought I have the 28, but it is actually a 33. A gift from hubby years back. I love the size, and I am petite. I don't wear it very often nowadays. This post is a reminder that I should!
