Ballerine or Trinity Rouban Ring?

I’m deciding between the Cartier Ballerine and the Trinity Rouban ring for my 30th anniversary (time flies!). It’ll be for my right hand and I may wear it on either my third or ring finger. I’m waiting for my SA to bring in the approx. 1 ct centre stone rings from another locations so I haven’t tried either design yet. SA has approx. 0.5-0.6 ct center stone of both designs in the boutique so he took pic of them side by side on another SA’s hand. I don’t want it to look too much like an engagement ring. I have an oval diamond with side stones on the band for my left hand ring finger already, pic below, and don’t want it to look like I’m wearing 2 engagement rings on both hands. I’ve looked into Trinity ring with pave diamond on 1 band, an eternity ring and other wider band pave diamond rings (Tiffany, De Beers, etc.). But both DH and I would prefer to get something with a solid diamond in the center instead of pave bands. Which style do you like? I’ll try to take pic when the ~1 ct ones come in in about 1 week or so.

I’m not a fan of the Ruban. I find it too busy and a bit dated in my opinion.

Thank you! My SA said the Ruban is being discontinued so it’s whatever are left in stock. I just don’t know how each will look on my finger. I wavered back and forth between the two.

A quick update on this. SA sent some pics of a 1.09 ct Ballerine to show me, see pic below. I’m just not loving this style. So I’m now waiting for 2 Trinity Ruban rings to come in (any day now, I hope!) so I can go try them on in person.

Anyone has a Love ring with a solitaire? How do you find it? I‘m curious as I’ve never seen it in person and it seems to be in the same price range as B and TR. I’m in need of a right hand anniversary ring and it’s getting very close to the actual date.

Personally, I like my rings in RG and think the diamonds stand out better in that color of gold to differentiate the diamond from the setting. However, since you seem to prefer WG/Platinum, have you taken a look at the Destinee Line? I have the Destinee RG eternity ring and adore it! I chose it as an anniversary present also several years back. It also comes in Platinum.

I love the look of the Destinee band! It looks great in RG. Thanks for your suggestion. I‘m hoping to try it when I visit the boutique along with the Etincelle de Cartier, Maillon Panthere and Love solitaire. It’s so hard trying to imagine how things will look from the screen. About 5-6 years back I really wanted the Trinity with 1 pave band but have since lost interest. So the search is on. Just waiting for my SA to call when the rings are in.

Finally after more than 2 weeks, I went to try on the Rouban and the Ballerine. While they’re both gorgeous, it looked like I was wearing an engagement ring on both hands. Plus the ring sizes weren’t right for me either. Sigh. I did prefer Rouban over B but I’ll have to get it set for me if I want to pursue it. We ended up with something else for my anniversary present. Will try to post pic over the next few days. It’s still all wrapped up. Even my DDs approved. :smile:

Here are the .76 ct Rouban and 1.09 ct Ballerine for reference.

Here are .76 ct Rouban and 1.03 ct. DH and I found the twirl on the 1.03 to overwhelm the center stone.

I'm looking at the same ones but only through SA. Curious to know which one you went with. I'm torn. I'm waiting to see it in person too once they arrive.
