Balenciaga ID Tag

I am new to the site so I am not sure if this has been discussed. I have 10 Balenciaga bags and one of the things they have in common is the top of the ID tag, where it is stitched on the bag, is always black thread. The other three sides match the bag's color. Is this always true? If a bag does not have the black stitching, should I always assume it is fake? Thanks tons!

I do not actually have a bag I am wondering about. (I bought most of mine from Barneys and DecadesTwo in LA). I just see the ones being sold on Ebay with matching thread and claiming their bags are authentic. I was wondering if I am missing some information.

As far as I know, the tag is sewn into the black lining with the matching black thread so the top stiching on the tag should always be black...

oh yeah, many on ebay are fakes. And the leather on the fakes is looking better and better. If you post the links to specific auctions you are wondering about, there are some eagle eyes on this forum!

I just went and checked my bag and yup the top stiching is black while the rest of the three sides are the color of my bag. Never would've known this if it wasn't for your observation!

Ann we are all suckers for pictures; would love to see a pic of your balenciaga family. Of course if you post it you might start get propositioned for your bags, LOL.
