balenciaga color question

Hi, everyone I'm a newbie to Balenciaga so please bear with me. I tried searching posts for color references, but because I'm unsure of Balenciaga colors, none of the colors in members' photos matched the color I'm curious about. Balenciaga have posted on their website a Fall 2007 Giant City bag in a beautiful dark, bluish purple... what is this color called? Is this the same as the violet color everyone is raving about?

I believe the official color is called grape and yes, it is the violet people have been raving about!

Some sellers also call it violine or purple.

thanks for the clarification! there were so many variations of purple and violet in the reference thread - my head was spinning!
