A friend needs help in deciding which bag (Bal City with G12 hardware or Givenchy Pandora in medium) to get if she can only buy one bag this year. Both bags would suit her casual lifestyle to a T so it's not an easy decision. I have both bags and feel that she can't go wrong with either bag. We'd love to hear your thoughts on these wonderful bags.

The pandora! It can be held crossbody, handheld, by the shoulder strap, or the crook of your arm. Also, the pepe leather option is pretty durable already, but the goatskin is ultra-durable.

That's a tough one. I have both bags, and they're very different. I gravitate to my Cities though. My clothes are usually very minimalist, so I need the tassels or big Bal studs to add some textural interest to an outfit. The Pandora is also quite heavy.

Thank you everyone for taking the time to respond. My friend decided to get a Bal City w/ G12 hardware for now since weight is an issue for her. When we compared my bal city and goatskin pandora, the latter was indeed heavier as schadenfreude mentioned. I told my friend to consider a panda in pepe or calfskin as it is lighter than goatskin. But she doesn't like the look of the crumpled/wrinkled pepe leather and she's afraid that the calfskin panda will show wear easily. However, she is still considering getting a panda in the future since it is indeed a versatile bag.
