I haven't seen much online specifically about the empreinte version of the Boite Chapeau Souple MM so I thought I'd make a separate post. (I think the internet was somewhat "over" the BCS by the time the empreinte version came out.)

This bag is just stunningly beautiful. It's just enough out of the ordinary to be special yet classic and not overly trendy. I feel like it hits just the right balance of casual and dressy to be useful for most occasions. The strap easily adjusts to a variety of lengths (and the black strap on the black bag blends in better than the vachetta strap on the mono canvas version, so you can get creative with the strap without it looking weird). This is my first empreinte piece and I am so pleased with the quality and surprised by how incredibly lightweight it is for an all-leather bag. I think the imprinting will hold up well/stay crisp because of the bag's structure. This bag is deceptively spacious. I can fit all of my daily essentials (compact wallet, phone, keys, sunglasses, etc.) with a bit of room to spare.

I was looking for a very specific bag style, and this checked all of the boxes for me. (Small but not too small, zip closure, non-chain strap, at least the option to carry cross-body.) The only thing I don't love is the price ($2860). I feel like all of the versions of the BCS MM are a bit overpriced (e.g., the pochette metis empreinte is $2420), though I suppose the price is in line with the other "luggage-inspired" styles like the Vanity PM and Petite Malle Souple.

I hope this thread and the real-life photos will be helpful for those specifically considering the empreinte BCS in the future!20210130_101030.jpg20210130_101134.jpg

What a gorgeous bag! The Empreinte certainly elevates it, so you can easily use it for evening as well. Is it awkward to open and close the zip because of its shape?
No, it's a really nice balance between structured (from the piping) and soft (from the leather). The only difficulty comes from the fact that the zipper is a bit stiff and not smooth, which is a criticism I had seen in my research on the general BCS style. It's not a huge imposition, though.

Simply classic, elegant and beautiful. Congrats. Carry in good health!

Update: I saw in another thread that rubbing wax paper on a stiff zipper helps it glide more smoothly. I figured it couldn't hurt to try it (couldn't imagine it damaging anything) and it totally worked! There's definitely a noticeable improvement, and it left no trace (e.g., residue).
