Do to an injury, I cannot carry backpacks at all. For school I've gotten by with using tote bags. I've broken two bags this way now. One was a Betsy Johnson, the handle detached from the bag. The other was a MK, the handle snapped in half.

I need a bag for school. I carry a Surface Pro 3, notebook, calculator, and pens/pencils. I try to keep it light because I can't carry much weight. Apparently, given the state of my last two bags, not light enough. I'm considering the Lo and Sons brookline, but I'm concerned it'll be too big for me. Plus I'd really like to keep it under $100.

Ladies do you have any suggestions? I'd also like to stay away from anything too juvenile. I'm in my 30s. Thanks

Hi!
Both my girls carried Longchamp Le Pliage and they holdup beautifully. The bag itself weighs about 12 ounces and will hold all the items you mentioned easily in the large size.
The only downsize would be price if you can't find them on sale.
Nordstrom, Neiman Marcus and Bloomingdales all carry them online and they are $145.
Hope this helps.

It's no more expensive than the Lo and Son. Thanks for the suggestion. Do you know if the medium size would be big enough? I can't go look at them in person.

Yeah Longchamp LP nylon is the best option for your needs and budget. The medium size is big enough but it only comes in short handle. If you want the long handle, you have to go for the large tote.

If you can stand canvas (it's definitely a more casual look), LL Bean totes can carry everything and the kitchen sink for about $40. They come in dark colors too, or you can customize them.
