My daughter is starting MBA school this fall and I would like to get her a bag that she can use as both a purse and a backpack. I know Senreve has an option, but have read mixed reviews here on that. Any other recommendations for something that is big enough to fit a laptop and teaching materials but that looks nicer than a normal backpack?

Congrats to your daughter! I was reading about the senreve bag before but some reviews said it looked weird as a crossbody bag. But anyways, I saw this bag which is called "poppins" by jemma and it works very similarly to the senreve bag but I think it looks better. I found this blog post about it that might be helpful b/c it has pictures and stuff. Hope that helps!

Yes i tried it on. And because of the way the strap is attached, the bag looks extra oversized when worr crossbody ( i tried on a midi).

There's also a convertible option from Kaai, the hero bag, which seems to work very similarly to Senreve and Poppins bags.

Another convertible purse/backpack that I've found on my search for Senreve Maestra alternatives: https://www.woolandoak.com/products/all-day-bag

I'm not sure about the quality since I can't find many reviews of it, and I think this company has long shipping times. But it's cheaper than some other options at $419 USD.

Ah, I forgot that Wool and Oak is a good option too! I've owned both this one and the Senreve Maestra and will say that the Maestra is definitely higher quality construction, although the Wool and Oak fits more and feels lighter I think. I have also owned a number of Jemma bags (not the Poppins though) and think the Maestra is higher quality than Jemma too. Between Wool and Oak and Jemma I would say it is probably about similar quality, though personally I prefer Jemma and am trying to sell my Wool and Oak actually. I obviously have a problem with having too many work bags !
