Baffled by LV resale pricing

I have been diligently checking all the resale sites for a preloved LV, and the wildly inconsistent pricing is beginning to get to me.
What am I missing? The same bag might be priced higher used on one site than it is new on the LV website, and what looks like an almost identical bag is on another website for half the cost. It is just dependent on the seller and what they think they can get for their bag?

Resale certainly varies. First of all, are you for sure looking at authentic LV vs. fake; this is the crucial dragon to slay when trying to make one-to-one comparisons. A lot of goods are simply fakes being misrepresented, affecting pricing. Is it a big reseller vs. an individual person without overhead. Is it one national market vs another (say, Japan vs. US), where LV at resale can range in not only condition but desirability. When there's a glut available and when fashion changes rapidly, as in Japan, it can really depress pricing.

Anyway, it helps to know what a steady selling price seems to be for the item you're looking at, which you can get a glimpse of in the Sold listings on eBay.
