bad reaction to MAC Lipglass

I recently wore my clear lipglass that I have had for well over a year and it dried my lips out. It was so bad that I think I may have had a allergic reaction to it. I know you are supposed to throw your makeup out every so often (probably more often than I do). Has this happened to anyone else? Do you think the reaction was to the lipglass or the fact that its old. I love my MAC lipglasses but now I'm scared to use them.

Did it smell/feel/look any different? I recently had to throw out my favorite Smashbox lipgloss because it smelled really off and the texture was super grainy and I didn't want to risk anything, so your lipglass could have "expired."

Now that I think of it, it did smell a bit funny. Hmmm, it must have expired.

that happened to me before and it smelled really bad, i took it back to mac and they even said it was old bc of the smell and i had bought it a week earlier

The same thing happened to me and the product was not stale. I was wearing it every now and then (since I alternate lipstick) - but during the past few weeks it has started to create really dry skin at the corners of my mouth.
