I’ve been eyeing a Cuyana stamped croc backpack but also love the Mansur Gabriel backpack. Wonder if there is anything else I should consider?
I’m looking for a black leather backpack thats good for travel. Because I’m only using it for travel a few times a year, was hoping for something under $1000.

can anyone make any further recommendations?

For travel, I always recommend Tumi. Their bags have great organization and are super durable. I have one of their nylon backpacks and love it, but they also have leather backpacks that are in your price range.

+1 - Tumi is known for travel. You might also check out Longchamp Cuir items, I think they have a backpack. I have a Cuir Le Pliage and it’s an incredible travel bag.

I recommend either Lumi, Kipling or Pacsafe.
I have 2 Pacsafe backpacks especially for travel and I love them. You can lock the zippers etc.
Lumi Saara is lovely, I use it for work, play and travel. The leather is soft but durable and it can fit a good amount of stuff.
I just decided to give up Longchamp completely because of their crappy CS and repairs and I replaced the LP backpack with a Kipling foldable backpack. Kipling nylon is light, the bags come in sooo many colors and they weigh close to nothing.
