BABEL, overrated or that good?

i just saw the movie, but didn't really understand the end, can anyone explain?

and i kind of disagree about the Japanese girl, maybe her acting was ok but i did not like her story in the movie (but maybe that's juts me thinking sex,nudity, and drugs aren't always necessary in movies)

i liked the Mexican lady's story though, i think that part of the film could stand on its own two feet in another movie.

yeah, i don't really like her story too. i think the japan scene was made just because of the "japanese hype" lately.
it seems so unattach with unlike the other 2 stories.
i mean, WHAT WAS THE LINK? only the gun that HER father gave to the kids. and why push the story on the girl? doesn't it suppose to be the father who are "directly" link to the other stories?

the japanese story was just too random to fit in.
