Hello,
After reading through much of everyone's helpful advice, I've decided to make the Garden Party bag my first Hermes bag purchase. I was wondering from your experiences if this is a bag that is usually available in stores throughout the year, of if it is something I'd have to jump on once I know it is in stock. I think I'm leaning more towards the canvas/leather combo as opposed to all leather.

If the color combination for leather/canvas is to your liking and money not an issue, I'd suggest to get it. This is because every season, most Hermes stores will bring in a certain quota of canvas/leather Garden Parties in certain colour groups. A certain colour of Canvas/Leather GP you may see now, you might not see again the next season.

Ah, thank you for confirming this, because one of my concerns was the availability of color options. I called my closest Hermes boutique last night, and they had several canvas colors available - I am still new to memorizing the official Hermes color names, but I believe the salesman said they had orange, cassis (I think?) and etaupe (sorry if the spelling is off on that one). They only had the all-leather in black, which is the only color I'm not looking for.

Like the others have mentioned, I usually see GP or evelyne in the store... Also if you are in a country with Hermes online store they tend to have some stock available too... HTH!

No worries.:smile1: Cassis Canvas is pretty seasonal at this moment. A matter of time before Hermes no longer stock this color in GP anymore. Etoupe Canvas GP is not easily available in my local store. If you like any of the 3 colors mentioned, I think you should get it. They're all pretty in GPs. A matter of personal preference.

I really want the Etoupe but in Fjord (for stiffness and durability), not negonda which I often see it in. Do they ever issue same color in different leathers at the same time, or would I have to wait awhile, possibly forever?

It truly depends on the Hermes buyer of your local store on what she has ordered.
The SAs will not know what's available until the Hermes buyer and SM informed them what will be coming next and stocked in the backroom.

Best to request with your SA on a Fjord Garden Party. If there is an overwhelming requests of a Fjord GP within your local boutique, the SAs will in turn inform the SM and your local Hermes buyer will take note and try to order some batches of Fjord GPs from Paris.:smile1:
