Hello TPF’ers!

Last week I decided to get something authenticated for the first time, and the object in question was a really old Prada bag that I bought totally uncritical from the pre-loved marked for a really cheap price many years ago (long time before I started collecting real designer pieces). I was quite sure it would come off as unauthentic because of the low price I paid, and the lack of papers etc. But to my huge surprise, Authenticate4U today confirmed that it actually is authentic!! :yahoo:
I’m stoked about the great deal I obviously made several years ago, and by the fact that my designer collection «suddenly» got a new member today! I’m leaving a couple of pictures of my «newly revealed treasure» (don’t mind my veeery casual outfit:giggle:), and would like to know if anyone else in here has gotten surprised by authenticators??
Please share your stories, I’d love to hear them! :smile:A71B92EE-A1A4-494B-86A7-388C153AD81F.jpeg7228571D-D61A-43B9-81C8-0EAAB618F4EE.jpeg

What a wonderful story!

Love your bag!

Recently, I purchased three Louis Vuitton bandouliere keepalls size 50s and two 60s from the flea market for $200.00. I have been thrifting for a while, and I believe I pretty good at authenticating items. I bought the bags and was told by a woman on Poshmark Thrifting on Fb my bags were fakes. I mean she was so nasty, rude and vile to me. I had my bags authenticated by Designer Divas on Facebook and when I told the woman she blocked me from her page out of embarrassment. I knew my bags were real because this lady got so upset when I bought them that day.

Another time I sold a Gucci bucket bag and the customer said it was fake upon receipt. I posted the bag on discussion board and the majority of people were saying fake. The next day I had it authenticated by caroldiva. Somebody then contacted another member who specialized in gucci vtg and she agreed with Carol that the bag was genuine. A year later this woman on the board starts arguing with me and says how I sold a fake bag and nobody should buy anything from me. The woman who agreed with Carol told the pid to go eff herself.❤

There was a time i sold a Chanel and this woman did a chargeback before waiting for someone to authenticate it.

I showed her the authentication from caroldiva.

I showed her the exact same bag.

I had to pay Carol $30 to get a letter before the b went away.

Haha wow! I really don’t get why some people are putting up such a rude and awful attitude, they must be quite stupid to believe that will help them achieve anything good:confused1: But it’s great that all of the cases you mentioned seem to have ended in your favor after all!
