Thanks again, faith_ann! The bag has arrived and I compared it with my existing Petal to the Metal, and the Made In tags appear to be identical.

However, I'm curious about this bag that I've bought, and wondered if you or anybody else might be able to tell me more about it. It's not lambskin, as I had assumed by its smooth texture, but "cow leather". The strap is shorter than my current one (about 1m when it's on the outside holes; I know my current PttM strap has stretched but I don't remember it being that short when I got it?) Also, the inside of the flap is lined with leather.

I had thought that only the first generation PttM bags had the flap lined with leather? And that those bags were lambskin with paisley lining? This bag has black-on-black lining with large, puffy-looking letters making a pattern out of the logo.

So I'm curious!

Comments: I bought this bag today, and I suspect it's a real older Marc Jacobs, but I cannot be sure. It's pale pink, possibly calf leather, it has pink suede lining, pristine on the front zipper pocket, a bit dirty in the bag. The zippers are both Lampo, and I found a mention of this model bag, with front pockets with snap buttons, and the zipper font in an older authenticate MJ thread from 2006 here :

The bag on the photos is like mine. If it is authentic, does anyone know the style name?

i would have liked to see the white tag with the model number, but nothing looks off so far.

i'd like to see a straight shot of the name plate but it otherwise looks good to me.

it's called the Anouk and IIRC it's from the 2002/2003 season

You purchased a Natasha, correct?

I'm possibly misunderstanding, but I think you're mixing up details from a first season Natasha and a first season Sasha, which is a larger Natasha.

First season PTTMs are lambskin. I think some second season ones are as well, but only for certain styles. TBH I don't really remember, but after that, cow or buffalo leather was used. The strap length isn't consistent across all seasons and variations of the Natasha and can differ by a few inches.

There are two linings that were used for first season runs - the Sasha was paisley lined, while the Natasha was ribbon lined. The ribbon lined Natasha did not have a leather flap

If yours is black on black logo lining (similar to this) it's the Dreamy Logo lining. I think it was first introduced in 2012 but don't quote me on that, and I don't recall how long it was used for. If your bag has a white model tag, it was at least made after...Well at this point I don't even remember exactly when the white tags started. I don't remember the seasons where a lined inner flap was used and the seasons where an all leather flap was used, either. There are SO MANY versions of the Natasha that my brain has basically given up.

If you have time to kill and hate yourself a little, you might be able to browse the reference library and figure out a timeline
