Can anyone authenticate this Tiffany's ring? It's from 1997

http://www.ebay.com/itm/TIFFANY-CO-...D&orig_cvip=true&rt=nc&_trksid=p2047675.l2557

Auction has ended, it's on the bottom. There are a few pictures with the hallmarks

Thanks

Its hard to say without any doubt that the ring is truly authentic. The diamond is laser inscribed with a serial number that corresponds to the Tiffany & Co paperwork. The inscription is very small and a special tool is needed to see it. Matching the diamond’s serial number to the serial number on the paperwork is the only way to know for certain. The gold band however looks good and I don’t see any red flags. That said, Oakgem (I am not Oakgem or associated with them) has been selling on eBay for a long time and is a reputable business. I have never seen a fake from them and they have a long history of selling high end jewelry. I would be confident buying from them. Once you get the ring, you could take it to a jeweler and see if they can match the serial numbers up. Any jeweler should be able to do this.

Markings have changed on this piece. Can you post a picture of the back of the horseshoe? I would like to see how the diamonds are set from the back. The markings that I see on the side seem off, they should be more centered. If you are able to get a close up- as close as possible- of the side where the Tiffany hallmark is, it would be helpful.

omg, i did not think this could be a fake! i am soo keeping my fingers crossed! thank you soo much for your time and expertise!!!! the sides are soo difficult to capture, so here is my best and i do hope this is a real thing, certainly feels like it is.

Thanks Sadie, this ring doesn't have a laser inscription. I am told that started post 2000. How would they authenticate the diamond?

Hi TPFers,

I just got a Tiffany Multi Strand necklace in 18k gold. I'm wondering whether Tiffany would be willing to authenticate it? Has anyone ever brought their piece that was bought somewhere else and have them authenticate it?
I also attach some pictures if you ladies don't mind taking a look at them and tell me what you think.
The seller seems to be trustworthy but I just want to make sure I'm getting the real thing.
Thank you so much for your help :smile1:

Those pictures are helpful and are more clear. I am a little concerned with the necklace. I have seen this necklace marked several ways but not in the manner shown in the pictures. The ‘Tiffany & Co’ on the side of the horseshoe is what concerns me. It could be that I just haven’t seen this particular version of the necklace. The easiest way to know for certain is to have a jeweler (any jeweler can do this, its easy and quick) test for platinum. I have never ever seen a platinum fake. If it tests for platinum, I would be very confident it was authentic. I don’t see any other flags other then the marking on the side, and it may not be a ‘flag’. Its just that I am unfamiliar with that marking and I will not say one way or the other- fake or authentic- unless I know without doubt.

hey Sadie! thank you soo much for your advise and opinion! i really appreciate it!
i was also at first concerned about this one as when i was looking for it, there were 3 tiffany platinum horseshoe on ebay from diff reputable sellers and all had diff markings!!! this one was the same as the one from montecarloclub, the other 2 had diff markings in the back, one in the middle, the other on the side, but it was like a separate plate on top of the back of the horseshoe. and i understand marking the chain only is not enough and normally the pendant also gets marked. so while i dont get why tiffany changed the markings, i kind of feel better as montecarloclub would not sell fakes? also the seller assured me her ex-husband bought it online form tiffany and offered 100%money back. it feel totally tiffany, but i will try to go to a jeweler this weekend to put my mind at rest! :-) i am also happy to pay for authentication if you know where i can do it? i've done it before for a chanel bag only to put my mind at rest. but i cannot see anything similar for tiffany. do u know if http://www.mypoupette.com/authentication.php does it? i would take it to tiffany but what do i ask for? as i don't need it extended, its clean, so i cannot think the reason to give them to service it :-)

Hello. I'm new here and I was wondering if anybody could tell me if these Erickson Beamon necklaces are real. And whether or not they are from their higher priced main line or the several collaborations they've done. and also what price range they would fall in. Thanks.

If it’s an older pre 2000 ring, then yes, they didn’t have laser technology then. The best thing, in my opinion, is to send it to Tiffany in New York and have a revaluation done. There is a fee for it. A rep will look at the ring and inspect it. You could also take it into your closest Tiffany store and they can send it to NY for you. Make sure if you send it directly, you insure it.
