Hello! My gut says this is a fake Mythiques Phoenix moussie that was on TRR but I wanted someone to authenticate. The tag “looks” correct on the left corner, Toutsy is on the left bottom corner like the silk, and the H Copyright with accent is correct on the right side. It is a 140cm and I have never seen this CW. I’m new to PF so thank you in advance.

We don't authenticate closed auctions / sold items and we generally want requests for participation to come from active members.

That said, it really is impossible to authenticate from TRR as their photos are always lacking. They do have an in-house authentication service, although I have personally seen two fakes recently (to their credit, they did remove the listings immediately). Many of us buy from there -- I have never had any issues myself over dozens of scarves. I recommend buying with a credit card that has good protections (most of them do I think, I personally like my Amex) just in case.

To put more color on it. I bought it, just received. Should have joined TPF and asked before pulling the trigger.

To give you some initial feedback- I don’t see any glaring red flags.
Hopefully this helps a bit until an official authenticator is able to peruse it for you. ;)
Same here, although I am not a cashmere expert by any means (allergic to it). I would be comfortable buying it with a good credit card and then examining it in person for a final verdict

Fellow scarf lovers:

I'm interested in this Hermes Scarf Ring on sale at Grailed.

Do you think this is authentic? Also, has anyone used this style of ring? I'm wondering if it works well with 90 scarves.

Thanks for your help. I appreciate it!

Hi to all - has anyone seen this CW from Parures de Samourais CSGM (French ebay - already lots of biddings)
- I have the blue CW - and have never been shown this one in my boutique (a flagship store), although my SA always shows me all the blue and more neutral CWs.
FAKE ALARM ???
If that's the case, please Mods: please feel free to move the post to the right place.

Is the background black? I'm not qualified to judge authenticity with any certainty, but I will just note that I commonly see PdS CSGMs being sold in a black background that I think looks a lot like this one through sellers who specialize in low-cost dupes/replicas.
If this isn't real, I think they took the real 90 cw in ebene as inspiration and turned it into a CSGM format.

Thank you, Labelo. Those were my thoughts exactly. I have the CW 05 blue saumon with the black background and know the CW offered on ebay france only as a CW available in 90 format. My first impulse was - wow a FAKE and so many bidders. How sad for them. Should I try to warn them? Although my boutique is a flagship store, I know that they very often order all CWs available, but not always, which is why I wanted to consult the many great experienced TPF members here.

The CSGM for Parures de Samourais was issued in 8 cws only and this isn't one of it (There's 7 stock images and 1 cw which isn't shown online). This cw is a blatant fake, which is only available in the 90cm silk. You'll find all the 8 cws for it in the Spring/Summer 2018 thread or the Ode to Parures de Samourai thread.

Hi,

The first post by mistikat on 12/20/12 lists which pictures to post for scarf authentication. Has this changed? Pictures of the hem, tag, copyright, close up to show the weave and Hermes stamp were specifically requested. I have a vintage scarf I would like to authenticate but unsure where to go if I can’t post it here.

Thanks.

Appreciate your help in authenticating this scarf:
Item: HERMES Scarf Carre 90 Silk HENRY F SMITH SAILOR Voyage Brown Multi-color
eBay item number: 264993495768
Seller: muta-posh (23 )
Link:
https://www.ebay.ca/itm/HERMES-Scar...495768?hash=item3db2d7dad8:g:Dc4AAOSwV0Vf6vrJ
Comments:
Seller does not have a lot of feedback but it is positive and includes satisfied Hermes scarf buyers. Seller appears to have a bricks & mortar store in Tokyo. Based on the large number of listings for Japanese re-sellers currently appearing on eBay – may be bricks & mortar stores are switching to this sales channel while the pandemic limits domestic & foreign travel?

Thanks in advance.

Thank you so much, dear Meta,

Unfortunately, I have only just discovered your reply. Now that I can be sure I'm not mistaken and falsely accusing someone of selling fakes, I'll at least try to let ebay know. Maybe it will help. One more day in auction and 45 bidders at 510 euros it's worth a try to me. Maybe I can save someone the painful disappointment.

PS: Thanks to the MODS for moving my question to the apparently now right thread.
