Comments: Thank you for your help, experts! :flowers:

Genuine, but not Bonnie Cashin ERA although I think she designed the original version - Whateve would probably know. And more likely from the very early 1980s since it has a serial number. It looks like a style 8920 Courier Pouch.

None of mine are similar, and the catalogs in my files aren't much help with older wallets. What details are raising red flags?
The closest similar style that I can think of is #4730 but that one doesn't have a pen holder. All the 4730s I've seen and other vintage wallets usually have the Coach imprint on the inside bottom right corner, not on the front of the wallet. That just looks like an odd place for it. There is an extraneous curved seam on the inside large pocket that is where the checkbook goes.

Compare it to these pictures. The shape of the flap is too curved. I've seen this on many fakes. I don't recall seeing an authentic wallet with that amount of curve. On every 4730 I've seen, the bottom of the curve of the flap ends above the half-way point of the wallet - this one overlaps about 60- 70%. Again, I've seen this on fakes. The back pocket zipper doesn't have a stop at either end. The leather has been pieced above the zipper. On an authentic wallet, the back is all one piece. Until I saw this, the piecing, I thought there was a chance it might be authentic - now I'm convinced it is fake.

I'll just comment on *zooangels* and her history.

I reported 3 fakes from the seller in November, 2015. One was a leather (fake) classic bag with an Italian plant code but creed stating US made and another was a signature bag with the pattern cut sideways - at 90% angle from as it should be.

In January there were 3 more fakes she listed.

And here's a HOS post from February, 2015:

Thanks whateve -
I was so shocked to get it at that price, I expected to be way outbid!

Absolutely. The Pocket Zip is a great style especially if you like to keep your bag contents organized and separated, and the Grape Nubuc is such a gorgeous color. It's hard to believe that Coach hasn't done a lot more suede and Nubuc/Nubuck bags in those purple and plum and grape shades, they always look so JUICY!

JUICY is the perfect word! And those purply colors are my favorites.
Will be on the lookout for more!

My eBay purchase. If someone could take a look at those two links, I'll be very greatful!
