Hi! First timer here. I got this bag at an estate sale and I have had the hardest time authenticating. It does not have any stamps or serial numbers. It is vintage, so I thought that might have something to do with it. I would say it's a fake EXCEPT that the leather is real and buttery smooth. So why put such nice leather on a fake. I think the interior lining is vinyl. I read something about bags in the 80s getting "repaired" using vinyl interior. Could explain the lack of stamps. There is a sticky place in the interior pocket where a hologram sticker might have been at one point. Any help would be much appreciated.

Hi authenticators,

I am really lusting after this beautiful dark red mini square (my dream combo and size!). I tried searching as much information as I could online and after some crazy search, I suspect it came from the Pre-Fall/Winter 2012 line (see second to last pic) but I cannot quite tell if they did release a mini square in this colour combo.

There're a few red flags that ring the alarm for me: 1) I couldn't find much information on this bordeaux colour, let alone the sizes available (how could no one talk about this beauty?!?!) ; 2) the quilt of the back pocket does not completely align with the background [see top right corner of the back pocket] (and seller claims it's brand new so shouldn't be from wear-and-tear); 3) seller's recent ratings were virtually all from selling lower price-point items. Could it be a trap? Or am I just overthinking?

I checked the pictures following the online guidance and advice; it looked likely to be authentic to me but I want to make sure it's not because I want it so bad. It's frustrating that I couldn't find a comprehensive list of past Chanel bag collections online (to my surprise) to cross-check...

A second/ third opinion is much, much appreciated.

I would really appreciate some help to authenticate this bag. I bought the purse for my girlfriend´s birthday in Paris, at "25Janvier" / "vintage-paris.com" the 19th of August. We did check the purse in store upon purchase, and even asked the shop manager several times if they could confirm that the bag was authentic, which they insisted on. The shop itself also seemed very authentic, with a lot of beautiful vintage items for sale from the most known brands, and "only 1 customer in store at the time" rule... My girlfriend fell in love with the bag, and we felt the purchase was safe, so I bought it...

...So, after we arrived back home, we starting googling vintage "Chanel Purses", and found some discrepancies - we also found several "confirmed" details that the bag is in fact authentic, but I have a feeling that something is just off...Hopefully I´m wrong.
