I just purchased this Classic flap. It did come with the an Etinceler authentication paper and the serial number does match. The thing that concerns me most is that it smells like chemicals, not like leather. I did read on the forum that some people had this problem even with purchases straight from the boutique. The caviar looks pebbled but feels smooth to touch (which could just be the batch). The leather in the interior pockets as well as the chain feel very thin. The hidden pocket zipper also has the EP engraving on it, and from my research on the forum, the 27 series does not have this? Also, it comes with the boutique card that is supposed to be stamped when you buy it, but it was not stamped. I have reached out to Etinceler to verify this authentication, and if you guys rule this as authentic, I might just send it to Leather Surgeons for further authentication and to get rid of the smell.

Also, I really apologize for the pic of the serial sticker. I spent an hour trying to get a better picture, but this is the best I could get

Update: Etinceler did verify that they authenticated this bag in-house. I would still like a second opinion, please. I really want this to be authentic as it's such a beautiful saturated black.

The serial sticker is larger than any I have seen before with no cc logo on it maybe because it is older and 6 digit serial?

And for some reason the chain is only about 13.8” long (single not doubled)

Everything else looks legit , eclair zipper, lower stripe of “E” is longer, 11 stitch count on quilting, all the quilting lines up, nice heavy chain with no stitching on folded leather, there is a shop seal inside the zipper pocket.

I’m just so confused by the chain length.

Also, the chain length on my bag is SUPER short. When it is doubled up, it sits RIGHT UNDER my armpit. When it is just a single chain, it's too short for me to wear comfortably as a crossbody... I can only comfortably wear it on a single chain on one shoulder. Is this normal? (Apologies for my ignorance, this is my first time owning a Chanel.)
