Thanks for your response!
sorry to reply so late
Those are the best pictures that I managed to do  I think that are clearer. Unfortunately I am not sure what engravings I should look for I not see nothing like that.
I hope you can help me.
Thanks for your time.

Woo hoo. Your camera work is getting better! Unfortunately, I can't give you a definite answer though. I was hoping to see a greater distinction in color between the handles. But this could be a variation between the first models of this bag and later editions.

As there is a tiny bit of tarnish on the metal (which would be easily cleaned) you have an excellent excuse to take it to Cartier and ask them to clean the tarnish off. That should cost very little and you will have a definite answer on the bag. If they accept it to clean off the tarnish, you will have confirmation. Tarnish on metal hardware is common across ALL brands. If you were not planning on doing that, it would easily be cleanable with a jewelry polishing cloth.

I work in our local hospice thrift store and this Cartier handbag and wallet were donated. I took as many pictures as I could think of. The color is a dark reddish with the stitching color matching. It's a shoulder bag and has a magnetic type snap closure. The marking on the closure says "Dial Hook" on one side and P.K. 3940. The goldtone metal plate affixed to the bag says "lesmustdeCartier" then in smaller print looks like Ra 1975 and then Paris. On the inside of the flap up in the upper right hand corner is stamped in gold Cartier Paris. I'll do the matching wallet in the next post.

The matching wallet by Cartier is the same color, the emblem on the front is raised lettering not the large emblem appplied to the front flap of the bag. The snap closure has the same magnetic snap but the inside says Victiry Hook then P.K. 3940. It has the Cartier symbol and the Cartier under the marking amd Made In France. Somehow it got some kind of a sticky substance on the front of it and it's on the inside of the pocketbook. I wouldn't dare try to clean it off until I did more research on how to. Basically I'm trying to determine if they are authentic and if so, what price they would be worth.

The zippers match the burgundy color exactly and on the end of the zipper on the wallet it has YBS. There are 2 zippers inside the bag and they both have the same letters front and back ROSE. I'm now wondering since the metal plate says Ra 1975 could it be that this bag and wallet is that old? It looks like it has never been used or barely used. It's obviously extremely well made and the leather is excellent quality. I will try to take a better picture of the metal plate where it says RA 1975.

ShinyMagpie I found a listing on ebay that looks very similar to mine. The zipper pull is identical on her zipper as mine. Her shoulder strap attaches differently though. She has the removable hooks on hers. My straps are secured by a hole in the leather end and it is placed on a type of rivet. I hope that helps. Here is the link so you can see the zipper is the same:
