Thanks for replying. I checked the bag over and there are none of the things you ask for, except a Made in China tag inside. The bag is solid and the stitching looks well done. It has a leather smell.

Hello, I received this bag and I'm not sure if it's real, it doesn't have the Brahmin Gold charm on it, the only thing it has is a tag that says Brahmin with made in china on the other side. Thank you!

Wondering if anyone can help authenticate it.

No inside tags of any kind

Material doesn’t look or feel like any of the other Brahmin’s that I own-it’s matte and feels more like vinyl than the more substantial leathers that my current bags have.

I’ve scoured the internet and haven’t found anything similar...

This looks "off" for a few reasons but primarily the size of the strap - it is much thicker than ANY Brahmin I have ever seen in 25+ years of shopping and wearing the brand and the connector is off. Too round.

This is a gorgeous bag and seem to be a special collection / collaboration. I do not recall seeing it before but likely because it is not my taste vs not being authentic. It has all the hallmarks of an authentic Brahmin to me.

The interior pocket doesn't seem like what would be in a pre-2000s Brahmin. Something about the zipper on the outside pocket looks off to me. Pre 2000s bags almost always have a sewn in label for Made in the USA in the liner and most of them have that sueded material. It almost looks like someone took the medallion off an actual Brahmin and stuck it on this one. Perhaps the original owner moved the medallion? -- but especially in this age range of Brahmin - they have a slip in pocket - not zippered outside pocket and the medallion would hang off the hardware on some other part of the bag (like the handles).


**Please note - I am not an official authenticator but someone who has owned a LOT of Brahmins since the mid 90s. **

Hi all!

I am new here and hoping to get some help. I found this bag when I was out thrifting yesterday. I know how to determine high quality clothing by looking at the construction, quality of the textile, etc. but I am way out of my depth where handbags are concerned. I thought the stitching looked nice on this bag, the hardware feels nice and weighty. It has the made in China tag inside. No red flags pop out at me construction- or quality-wise, but am I missing something? Is this authentic, or is it a fake? When would it have been made if it is real? Thanks in advance!

The things that jump out at me are the quality of the off white leather grain, the width of the Brahmin plate between the handles (looking at others it looks very wide). The length of the Brahmin charm leather strap seems too long as well. The handles seem short..

I am definitely NOT saying it is authentic or not authentic - just telling you the red flags I see compared to bags you can buy today and bags I have owned in the past.

Most things can't be authenticated with just one picture. What does the inside look like? Is it a cosmetic pouch?

I'm not a Brahmin authenticator but I might be able to see something with more pictures.
