I don't know if this belongs here or over in Jewelry Box, but Ill leave that to you mods!

So I removed the first photos I took with this magnificently massive pro camera from the card the other night. This weekend Ill give her a real breaking in, at my cousin's wedding at a REALLY neat place. Hopefulyl weather allows me to do great work. It's tornado alley here right now.

These here are at a really high rate of resolution (a step below raw actually--which honestly if I use this for professional uses I will be using Raw) so I knocked them down a tad for sanity sake.

I took 80 pics, these were the best. The flower shot there on top is just unbelieveably nailing the color and saturation of those gerberas. They are still really bright though dying rapidly on my table ;)

I noticed that my own ability to find the correct point to have it focus on is lacking magnificently...hence the really crisp shots of my wrinkly dry "aged looking" hands!

And without further adieu...a few photos, mostly of my wedding rings but they were there ;).

First and foremost, Happy birthday!
Great beginning pictures. Love the color of the daisies!
Hehe. Love how you used the rear lens cap (?) as a stand for your ring!
What camera did you get?
I love the 2nd shot bokeh shot. The focusing a slightly off but that's ok. :)
In your modeling picture, your diamond is actually in focus and your hand is out of focus. The prongs are detailed, hence the focus. Another great bokeh shot!

Sorry for the rambling....i'm speaking of experience from the DH talking about photography almost every waking moment. LOL.

Thanks all!!!

Well I am glad you know what you're talking about. I minored in photography and I can't remember squat! It's depressing. I had to pull out my old books, projects and notes. hah! Good thing this is all automatic if you want it to be...

I was given a Canon Rebel EOS XSi, which apparently JUST came out and costs more than I would honestly have ever spent...I was just thinking Id buy a new higher megapixel Elph or something...he went and found the SLR with the fastest shutter speeds available that wasn't 22K. My uncle is the photography guru and my DH sat down with him and then talked to our wedding photog about it, and they both agreed this was a great starter professional camera. I don't really have a NEED for this as far as a profession, I just wanted to be able to take great high-res shots of my invite work to update my website with :)

My focus definitely neeeeds some work. And part of it is that I freaking MOVE when I hit the damn shutter button. I have NO idea why and how I got into that habit but it must die!

Thanks all! I figure this is welcome subject matter...I only have one purse worth posting about ;)
