Travel Atlantic City hotel recommendations please

I'll be in AC in July for an Elton John concert, and even though I am from NJ, I have never been to AC.

I want to stay near the concert hall (Boardwalk Hall), which is next to Caesars. I have no idea about any of the hotels. Can anyone who's been there, recommend a hotel, thanks!

i absolutelly LOOOOVEEE AC!!!
the good hotels i recommend are:
-tropicana
-ceasar
-taj mahal
- tromp plaza
-and brogada of course!!

The Borgata is no where near the boardwalk so I'd avoid staying there. I'd suggest the Tropicana or Caesars. The Taj is gross, in my opinion, it just has a sort of run down cheesy feel to it. You're going to be paying through the nose in AC in July so book ASAP to avoid an even higher price.

I suggest Tropicana since it's sort of one of the 'newest hotels' after they renovated it 3 or 4 yrs ago. It also has good restaurants inside and good dance clubs - if you're into them. I also suggest Borgata for the best buffet!

I've heard the Hilton is very nice, they have a beach bar in the pool area with palm trees I heard it has a very tropical island feeling.
