Hi, I am thinking of replacing my NF MM with an Artsy. It will be my travel bag. Camping bag. Overnight bag. etc.... Cubic inches on the Artsy is 1761. Cubic inches on the NF MM is 962. So for volume the Artsy is almost twice as big as the NF MM. I am having trouble picturing a bag that big. Can you fit nearly twice as much in the Artsy as the NF MM? Is the difference in shape a hinder being that the Artsy tapers toward the top? Any thoughts appreciated as I do most of my shopping online. :tender:

I have had both (sold artsy recently because I rarely used it due to the handle being so uncomfortable which a lot of others have complained about so I’m not sure that would be a perfect travel bag) and they are both very similar in size but Neverfull is a lot more comfortable... artsy also sits right under armpit which is not very comfortable such as Neverfull. Not sure why website says artsy is almost double in size as I believe they’re both about the same.

I LOVE the Artsy, and have several, but for what you are describing I feel the NF would be a much better fit. Very open and accessible style. I don't feel that the Artsy is double in size, and it's harder to access the contents of your bag with the Artsy, than the NF.

I agree with both comments above I do not think the Artsy would be a good travel bag. It’s a beautiful shoulder bag but I barely use mine because it’s not the most comfortable bag to carry, it’s quite heavy, and you can not reach into it while it’s on your shoulder. I have both the Neverfull mm and the Artsy mm they are about the same size however the Artsy is wider at the bottom from front to back and that’s why it’s sticks out from the body when worn on the shoulder.

I purchased an Artsy for a travel bag as well. I ended up selling it due to the uncomfortable nature of the strap placement (hitting me under the arm pit) and the lack of accessibility from the top. I know you mentioned a Neverfull, I actually use my old Delightful.
The longer strap is more comfortable and it holds a ton. I have taken it on planes and trains. No problems. I pack a smaller dressier bag inside for evenings and also a small day bag. Perfect.

Atsy is heavier fits less than NF because top is smaller so only can fits large stuff at the bottom and less easier to take out, but less Artsy on the street than NF everyone has one. Artsy is more expensive, one Artsy can buy 2 NFs (if you sell the pouch), and Artsy a bit big when wears, NF MM just right for size 5'5 or less if you are not too curvy.
best buck for the bag is NF, exclusivity Artsy.

On the other hand, leather Artsy's handle is the best not stiff and uncomfortable to wwear like monogram canvas ones.

I was going by the measurements online.

Neverfull MM
12.6 x 11.4 x 6.7 inches
(Length x Height x Width)

Artsy
16.14 x 12.60 x 8.66 inches
(Length x Height x Width)

So the inside volume should be
Neverfull MM 962 cubic inches
Artsy 1761 cubic inches

I'm really bummed from the volume (cubic inches) it seems the Artsy should be much bigger than the NF. :shrugs:

I would think because of the uncomfortable strap of the Artsy that it wouldn’t be a good travel bag. I love my neverfuls and use them for travel all the time. But to be on the safe side, I always tether my Pochette Accessories (where I keep my wallet) to the bag so no one can slip their hands in there. I always pack a Longchamp LePilarge large tote along when I’m overseas or out of town just in case it rains or I’m wanting to be extra secure. It’s lightweight, folds up, has a zip top, and acts as that extra bag for all those goodies I buy on vaca!

oh so if you're traveling and it's raining or you feel you need it, you put your NF in your Longchamp?

The Artsy does hold more than the nevderful mm, for sure. And I don't think the handle drop on the neverful is that much more than the artsy. I have used my Artsy for travel. Mine is in empreinte, so the bag is heavier than canvas. I throw in everything I want and need for a flight, which is pretty much identical to what I would lug around for a day at the office (toiletry pouch, iPad, Charger, Kindle, large Zippy wallet, Scarf...). It gets crazy heavy. My solution is to attach a strap. It makes a huge difference, and I can cross body it no problem. The neverful (I have the gm) really is more of a bucket, because of where the handles attach. Throw everything in my neverful, and it is just as heavy ( well the bag itself weighs less), things spill out easier, and I can't attach a strap. And I can't really shoulder carry the neverful when I have my travel stuff in it. I only use it for car trips, or if I take my wheely carryon. I don't think you would want to use the artsy as a weekender, or camping bag. It wouldn't be big enough for that in my mind. No idea if this is helpful...

My hat is off to you! The Empreinte leather Artsy is much too heavy for me to use for travel. I made that mistake one time, but not again! NF all the way!

Thanks for your description. I have been getting confused with the responses on here that the Artsy and NF MM are similar in size. I saw a review video of the Artsy where someone puts a MacBook in it and it gets swallowed up in the bottom of the Artsy. I put my MacBook in my NF MM and it is just right there almost skimming the top. Does the Artsy sit well (balanced) on your wheeled carryon bag when you're rolling through the airport? Your description was very helpful. I am wondering if some other responders thought I wanted a comparison to the GM NF.

Hi LemonDrop,
my artsy sits on my wheelie better than my neverful (gm). I have the horizon 55, and the telescope handle locks to where you want it to. I guess that would be the issue. If your carryon wheelie has a high handle, then the artsy might not hold. The bottom is square, and it has feet, so it rides in style. I always use a loop to attach the handles of my purse to the handle of the suitcase. I just feel more comfortable with that. I don’t carry a laptop. I have my iPad Pro in there though. It’s all a snug fit, which I don‘t mind when traveling. For a hobo, the artsy feels quite secure. I can tuck in my armpit ( yummy, lol), and I do use a strap frequently. It always is a compromise, I guess. The artsy was my first lv bag. I’ve used it a tonne. It‘s held up very well, and is my most traveled purse.

oh so instead of lowering the artsy handle over and around your wheelie handle and then setting in on top of the wheelie. you have an extra loop that you use to connect them?
