I bought a black Artois MM at the boutique in NY and adore it. I adored it so much that I then tracked down a burgundy via distance sale. The problem is that I don't reach for burgundy because black suits all my needs and serves a similar purpose. Should I sell burgundy for a more different summer-friendly color like orange or yellow? Bonus is that I could buy from the boutique again instead of distance saleand have another wonderful memory. Thanks, folks!

Sounds like you've answered your own question. In your case, if you find the burgundy to do similar things as the black, then I agree with you that exchanging it for a more summery color will broaden your handbag wardrobe rather than just add redundancies.

Hi there! I would sell the burgundy and get a brighter colour. But, you should not get a yellow or orange just because it seems like a summer colour. Get the colour which matches most of your summer outfit. I adore their yellow and orange, unfortunately I have a cool color tones, these warm tones do not look good on me.

On the other hand, have you consider getting another bag style?

@yoshikitty, I confess that I haven’t really thought of another bag style. I love and need BIG bags, and totes serve all my purposes. I wind up selling every other kind of bag I buy (Speedy, Gucci hobo, Artsy). That being said, the Sac Hardy has caught my eye a few times;-) Food for thought!

I am ashamed to say that I haven’t really evaluated how the colors I’m considering would work with my summer clothes. Yellow would definitely work with my summer wardrobe; I have an acid yellow Longchamp Pliage that almost acts as a neutral. Then again, Goyard yellow is a much different tone. Orange could pose some challenges, and I will definitely assess my summer collection before taking any further steps. I wear a lot of black halter maxi dresses in the summer and wouldn’t want to give off Halloween vibes all season! Next time we’re in NYC, I’ll make sure to wear all black the day I visit Goyard to get an idea of hod it might work. How I wish distance sales were returnable:-(

Thank you again for bringing up such a good point!

Oh.. you are right, the orange could give off Halloween vibes when you pair it with black colour clothing.
Just look around in the boutique to try out the different styles and colour. You will be surprised that the bag looks good on the website is not something you want and vice versa.

Now you’re making me want to go to the boutique ASAP and see what I find:-) You’re absolutely right. I will keep an open mind!
