I once bought a nice bag on ebay that smelled of smoke too, I sprayed febreeze on it and aired it out but the combination of the febreeze and cigarette smell got stuck on the fabric that it made it even worse. I just aired it out and eventually re-sold it. I couldn't use it anymore as I found it kinda gross.
