francisD - The Mahala fits over my shoulder. However, it will depend on your size. I am, as they say, Rubenesque. It does not fit over my shoulder when wearing a winter coat.

I'm 5'7" 115lbs and it fits as a shoulder bag with everything I wear.
Even my leather coats I wear it over my shoulder .
