Travel Are there any Dog beaches in the Tampa/Sarasota area?

Hey I am going out this weekend and don't want to leave my dog alone. I have been searching crazy to find a beach within an hour from me. Clearwater beach does not allow dogs. I am not going to have him run in the water and poop everywere. He would just sit in one spot because he dosen't like other people...lol

Does anyone know anything about th beaches in the area?

I think there is a nice dog beach on Davis Island, but I never got to go when I lived there.
