Are the Prices in Italy the same as the prices in Paris?

Italy (as well as Germany and the Netherlands) also uses Global Refund which means if you are lucky to find a VAT refund with Global Refund, the money can be refunded onto your credit card on the SPOT when you depart EU!

France H does its own refund and it will take about 2 months to get refund back.

Hello I think that in all the countries of european community there is the same price!Am I wrong?

Not really - I think you need to differentiate between the "Eurozone" (where the price is the same as it is the same currency, the Euro) and those countries outside the Euro, like the UK, where the currency is different i.e Pounds Sterling. I could be wrong though.

Correct.

Betwen Paris and Italy the difference is minimal. On a Birkin 35 it would be let's say 50 euros more in Italy.

Sorry I can't help on tax refund since (unfortunately) I never did one.

within Euro pricing zone, the prices are all similar. you can do some checks yourself by going to www.hermes.com and check the various countries yourself if you are looking for a specific items.

you can also check UK pricing online as well.

however, with all things Hermes, if you see an item in your desired combo (leather and color), the advice is always to get it right away. FSH may be well stocked but the turnover there is so high that they sell so fast that you may have difficulty find even SLGs. For example, I find belts to be the worst buy in FSH as they never have the more popular sizes in stock!

I will be flying into Rome, doing all of my H shopping in Italy and then flying out of Paris later... when/how do I the VAT refund? Can I still use the Global Refund system to automatically collect my refund (i.e have it credited to my cc)? TIA! :)

Yers, you get your customs stams & then refund in your final Euro destination. The Global Blue site has very good & thorough instructions. If like me, you run to the plane & can't get to the GB office, you can mail it in & you get it in about 2 months. But - you need to get the stamps or you get nothing back.

will you have a layover before going to Paris? when i flew from rome to paris. i had a layover in zurich so i was able to get my receipts stamped in rome. i figured this would save me the hassle flying back to the US from Paris.

in rome fiumcino airport, the customs office is after the security check point. once you pass, you will see a sign named "dogada" or some sort on your left. it a small, tiny, room with one customs officer at a desk.

in paris CDG airport, the customs office is behind the ticketing counter. its a huge curved wall with all the airlines once you enter the terminal and the customs office is all the way behind this.

Thank you for the information, myylin and Everlong! Since I will be traveling by train between Rome and Paris, I won't be able to use any other custom points. At least I'll know where to look when I'm in Paris!
