Are the handles on the classic monogram speedy more comfortable than DE?

So I have a speedy b 25 in DE and I love it, but I've been recently thinking about adding a classic monogram speedy 25 to my collection. I was looking to get it preloved as I love the patina look. But my only problem I find with my speedy that's in Damier ebene is that when I wear it on the crook of my arm the handles are very uncomfortable and dig into my arm. I've heard that between the treated Damier ebene leather and the monogram that the straps on the crossbody version are more comfortable on the monogram since the leather isnt treated, and I was wondering if thats also the case with the handles? Does anyone who maybe has both the damier ebene speedy and the monogram one can tell me if the handles are more comfortable on the monogram or if they feel the same. Thanks!

I have a Keepall in DE and two Speedys, both of which have Vachetta handles. I don't wear them on the crook of my arm, but holding them I don't really notice much difference. Of course the handles are much stiffer, even when they're made with Vachetta, whereas straps made with Vachetta will soften naturally over time and with use.

I have a Speedy 25 in DE and tend to wear it on the crook of my arm sometimes. I try to do it if I am wearing a jacket or a long-sleeve top. I agree, it can hurt and dig into your arm. I also own a Speedy B 30 in Mono, but rarely ever hold it on the crook of my arm.

If it were me, I would probably keep DE. I own mainly mono, but that's because most of the bags I do like only come in mono. When I see a bag I like in a different print or material, I'm more inclined to get the non-mono piece. Mono feels a little less sophisticated to me, like someone saying "LOOK, it's lv" Don't get me wrong, I have mono pieces that I love, but there is something lovely about the more discreet lv pieces. I pay more attention to the actual item, instead of the logo.

I agree with the others though that are suggesting you keep both, especially if you end up loving the style. I have a favorite mm in mono, and I wish I bought the others before they were discontinued. I rarely use my favorite these days as a standalone bag, but it makes a great slg for when I'm traveling. Buying PF is like buying a bag and wallet imo, and buying those separately is more expensive than a single PF.

I find the handles to feel virtually the exact same in terms of rigidity and structure, and both treated or vachetta can get leave marks on my arm after awhile. To me it feels more dependent on how much is in the bag than the type of handle.

Thank you all so much for replying! That really helped me decide that maybe a classic speedy would just not be for me. Seems like I would have the same issue, I'm glad to get some insight❤️
