Are name tag bracelets childish?

My wedding anniversary is coming up and my husband will get me a little something of my choice. I'd like a delicate gold bracelet, something that I can wear every day. My choice of jewellery for every day is quite simple: a thin chain with a pendant, my wedding band and engagement ring, pearl earrings or something small.

I'm feeling a bit nostalgic and am thinking about a name tag bracelet, like I use to wear when I was little. Something like this: http://www.annalouoflondon.com/productdetails.asp?id=3487&gclid=CMP9vMWX8rkCFe-E4godjTgAfQ

or this: http://www.google.co.uk/imgres?imgu...a=X&ei=tPBIUrKoIcqCrgeQyICwDQ&ved=0CGAQ9QEwAw

Do you think this is too little girly? I'm 37yo.

My other choice would be 2 plain gold bangles that I would wear together.

TIA!

I don't think I.D. bracelets are too little girly at all. I think they're quite lovely, especially when they're a gift from someone close to your heart.

I love the bracelets in the first link. The one in the second link is nice too. I would shop for a bracelet that's a solid metal though, rather than coated. In sterling silver or 14K. If you wear it a lot the coating will wear off.

I don't think so. I've had a Tiffany SS ID bracelet for years and I wear it regularly and I have another SS and leather bracelet. If you like it, get it and ROCK IT!

I think the vintage trend has brought name tag bracelets right up there again! I've got a couple of 1970s silver bracelets that I bought from second hand jewellers and had engraved with significant phrases ('Useful and Beautiful' and 'Si je puis,' both with a William Morris connection). You don't have to engrave your name or initials if you don't want to, it can be anything.

For inspiration have a look at not on the high street and type in 'personalised bracelet' or 'name bracelet' or something like that in the search box.

Here's a picture of my bracelets - they're just a bit of fun but I enjoy wearing them (and they're very difficult to photograph!)

Very nice!

Thanks for the link, I'll check it out.

Bangles together - YES! Lovely. Some examples to follow:

This is two bangles of the same metal (yellow gold) and the same internal diameter, but one's 5mm thick and one's 3mm thick. My favourite combination.

Or.... Two bangles of the same internal diameter and thickness, but one in white gold/ silver and the other in yellow gold. Here's the nearest I can get.

I like this combination too - same diameter and thickness, but one plain and one textured (twisted white/yellow gold)

Last one to make you think about bangle shape - I can't wear oval/ round or oval/oval bangles together as they don't lie well together in my opinion. Hope you don't mind me posting so many pictures, but I do love bangles (can you tell?)

Plemont,

thank you so much for the photos. They all look great.

The bangles that I tried on recently were the same in diameter and about 3mm thick. They looked really nice together. Simple, but they stood out nicely.

I think an ID bracelet would be lovely. In fact, I have been thinking of getting my DD (unborn) and myself ones to match. You could wear it everyday.

What a lovely idea!

I guess I'm channelling my 10 year old self by wanting to wear an ID bracelet again, but I wore the one I had all the time, for years. I got it when I was born from a family member. I have it on all the pictures in my old photo albums. And then it broke when I started high school and now I only keep it as a sweet memory from the past

I'm sure your daughter would appreciate having something like that.

I'm going back to the shop this week to try a few on and then I'll decide. My husband doesn't like the ID bracelet idea, he thinks it looks childish. That's why I'm asking for opinion of all of you chic ladies. But if I decide to go for it, he will not mind.
