Are Mikimoto pearls suppose to look like this

These are A quality. With close inspection they have some pit marks, wavy swirls. Are they suppose to be like that?

I thought Mikimoto were suppose to be high quality and I expected to see very smooth pearls.

Pearls can EXPENSIVE, as you probably know..:smile1: The more perfect the match, size, and markings the more expensive. Then add more $$ if they're a brand name like Miki. Your pearls are beautiful, and the lustre and nacre are lovely. Just remember fake pearls are perfect, real pearls come with markings. Then stop looking at them so hard, sit back and enjoy them.

Great points -- real pearls are special precisely because they are natural and unique, rather than fake and plastic:-)
