Are fendi buckles supposed to discolour

hey guys. was wondering if you could help. i have a small fendi bag which has a buckle on the front. i dont know the name of it but i have had it for 4 years and it used to be silver colour and now it is practically grey but patchy.

any ideas on how to clean it or shall i just take it to a fendi store?

any help would be great.

Has the metal scratched? Or has the color of the metal actually changed? The hardware on my older bags has gotten less shiny due to some small scratches, but the color of the hardware hasn't changed.

yes it has slightly scratched but the silver has gone a dark grey
