I have several pair of Christian Louboutin shoes that are wearable but certainly my least wearable shoes. Are CL’s still coveted and in style? Or have they had their day making the famous red bottoms a yawn or even a giggle? I honestly have no clue.

I’m trying to decide if I should keep the strappy CL’s for the rare occasions I want to look cute but have zero walking to do  or if their time has passed and I should sell. All opinions welcome! :flowers:

In the local high end department store CL remains one of the only shoe brands with a line up so I guess they are still doing something right.

They are distinctive and recognizable but as you mention they aren’t comfortable.

I personally think there’s cuter, better made and more comfortable heels out there.

lol, my CL are the most comfortable and most often worn heels in my collection. :P And when I say heel, I mean a true stiletto. (no wedges).
Though I only have one version that I stick to, the Iriza's which are very comfy imo.

The rest of my heels are YSL and being YSL, they are as beautiful as they are painful.

I think CL are still admired from afar. These days people prioritize comfort and practicality, especially when coming out of the pandemic. The discomfort and pain is not worth it on a night out with friends when you're supposed to enjoy yourself and have fun instead of being bothered by one's feet.
I feel for many, they're kind of like a fantasy shoe for the fantasy self or the fantasy life.

When I see someone besides myself wear them, I get excited. I feel like they're a rare species in the wild. And it always makes me happy to see someone wear them.

I do a lot of walking in heels. I don't think I'm fond of the kind of heels you just wear to dinner and sit most of the time. I had a pair like that, but I just never reached for them. They were the YSL opium heels in the highest heel height. So beautiful but could never break them in. Also, I felt it was no point to wear heels to dinners when my feet were under the table and the heels could not be seen lol.

All my heels that I thought were okay as collection pieces, to sit on a shelf and be pretty, I sold them. Couldn't stand them just sitting there. Gotta wear them or they gotta go!

Louboutin remains my favorite shoe designer. I have sold over a dozen pairs over the years but I’ve bought many more.

I think the brand has evolved quite a bit as the younger generation goes for more modest comfy heels. although not as popular as it was back in the 2010s, it is still appealing and very much relevant.

They are not as trendy as they used to be but who cares? There are plenty of classic styles.

With age, I have become more particular about my feet. I used to tolerate foot pain, numb toes etc and not anymore so my collection has shrunk however, I find Kates in the shorter heights to be very comfortable

I like that they aren’t as trendy as they once were and I kinda of resent the damage the blow out popularity did to the shoe. I like the distinctive red and the silhouette of the Kate and others are just so top notch. But I am a little annoyed that they are time stamped to an era of their most popular time.

When I look at other pumps like the jimmy choo ones or the Stuart weitzman nude pumps… I just don’t feel the excitement. Maybe I’m a magpie for overt designer… just don’t like the blow out and fizzle of popularity

I used to wear them but has ankle cartilage replacement surgery in 2018. I find manolos, Chanel , etc more classic and comfy now. Which is funny to me bc those were brands I wore long before CL, choo etc. what’s old is new
