The reason that I'm asking is because yesterday I was in my local boutique and purchased a Chèvre Calvi. I was charged $325.00. I could swear when I asked the price of the one in Epsom my SA told me $295.00. I didn't realize the price that I was charged until I got home and the store was already closed.
When I signed for it I wasn't wearing my glasses and could just about make out wear to sign and couldn't read anything else.
I don't was to call my SA if this was indeed the correct price.

TIA

Yes, Chevre is goatskin and is more expensive in all leather goods whether it is a Calvi or Birkin. You're lucky to get one in that skin since they are making less now. Most of them come in Epsom, which is leather embossed.

Thanks a lot for the info. I'm not a lover of Epsom, so when my SA brought out this one (blue azteque) I didn't hesitate.

You saved me a phone call. :smile1:

Before price increase, the chèvre calvi was 295 USd if I remembered correctly.
And that is the price for the Epsom now. I guess I just assumed all Calvi's regardless of leather would be the same price. I still love it and would have paid more for it if I had known beforehand, as I am not a lover of Epsom.

I don't like Epsom either. Comparing my chèvre to Epsom, I found Epsom to be do plastic and thin.

Epsom is a better choice for a calvi. I ave both and after 4 years the cherve is all beat up. The Epsom looks brand new.

I agree with you. I have a few calvis and Bastia in Epsom and chèvre. Though I prefer the feel and touch of chèvre, epsom is more durable for such small cuties.

I can also confirm that chèvre is more expensive that Epsom for calvi

Thank you everyone for your help. I am thrilled with my Blue Azteque Calvi. Even though Epsom is more durable, it doesn't have quite the feel of the chèvre. Since it won't be used everyday, I probably wouldn't even notice the durability difference.
Thanks also for confirming that the price was right. I feel a lot better now.:smile1:

Congrats again on scoring such a beautiful color. Chevre is more rare nowadays and even though I like to add more Calvis to my collection, I'm not finding enough Chevre version. If you see more of them in different colors, I would appreciate your update.
