Are Cartier Perfumes Worth it?

Hi All!
Anyone here have experience with Cartier's perfumes? Do you find they are worth the price? Do they last?

I have an appointment Friday with the perfume expert at the boutique. The fragrances are a bit pricey and I would like to know if they are worth it. I have very little experience with fragrance tbh, as I don't usually wear it.

I do have My Burberry Blush that I got from Sephora but I don't find that it lasts too long. I'm wondering if Cartier fragrances are perhaps a step up from department store/Sephora fragrances or if they are basically the same.

Thanks!

I admit I don’t know Cartier’s entire range well, only its pricey Oud perfumes within their Les Heures de Parfum range, but those left me rather cold. The newish Rivières de Cartier range is quite pleasant, a valid alternative to Hermes’ Jardin range.

The only Cartier perfumes I am familiar with are Baiser Vole (and its flankers), and Must de Cartier, in their regular line. Baiser Vole is a lily-centric fragrance -- I have a small bottle somewhere that I need to find and wear again. It's definitely worth trying.
Must de Cartier has been reformulated and the newer version is lighter and the base notes are not as complex as the older versions. Even so, the newer version is quite nice, especially for those who are not familiar with the older versions.
My favorite is Cartier So Pretty, but that has sadly been discontinued for a long time.

I went ahead and bought their Oud and Ambre parfum. I tried it when I was there ordering a ring and the longer it was on me, the better it smelled. I really like the complication of it. It's considered a unisex fragrance and indeed it started out a little heavy, almost masculine, but quickly softened into a complex yet soft and deep fragrance that was very appealing. When I got home, even my son said it was good, and he usually hates perfume!

I had them wrap it because it will be a Christmas present, so I won't be able to wear it until then sadly. Although they did give me some samples of three other perfumes, so I can play with those until then.

I really love the Panther gold tone case. I know it is ridiculously overpriced for what it is, but I really love it. Unfortunately, it only comes with either the Panthere Fragrance or the Panthere Eau De Parfum. The Fragrance was okay but the Parfum did not sit well on me. I contemplated getting the Fragrance but decided against it. I don't love any of the other cases either, which is too bad because all of the others could have been purchased with the Oud and Ambre that I liked.

Oh well. Honestly, it's just as well at this point. It's money I don't need to spend right now, especially after the other splurges I've endulged in recently. Maybe in the summer if they still have it and I'm still wanting to spend that kind of money on a perfume case. It's a lighter fragrance than the Oud and Ambre and I may be ready for a change by then.

I recently got a sample of the Magnolia from an SA when I stopped by last week. I've been trying it out and hmm...I'm not sure.
I feel it does not last long (on me). I smell it initially when I spray it, but then I pretty much never smell it again after that.

I do absolutely love the Cartier bottles though.

Not sure if that one is an Eau Du Toilette but if so, I find that those often don't last as long as the Parfums. I've read that in general, EDTs have less fragrance per volume than Parfums, but not sure if this is true for all brands or just some.

Yes, EDT are less concentrated than Parfums overall! Very true, I should check the fine print. :P

Cartier makes some really good perfumes. Even their perfumes that can be found at mid-to-high-end department stores are very good.

I would never, ever pay full price for a Cartier perfume, though--not even their high end perfumes. The brand's perfumes can be found at discounters pretty easily at a steep discount. For instance, Oud & Musc retails for $365 for 75ml, but authentic bottles of it can be easily found at discount retailers for less than $140.

That's good to know! I'll know better for future. Thanks!!
